They didnt require anything before stones remember? It was all about the blacklist. In my opinion it would just revert back to the blacklist and failer statements in toa before they required things like ectos or scrolls since those are not proof of completed runs.

And yes I have been in groups ranging from 100+ to no req and the higher the number of stones required by the group the less they actually fail a run. People who buy stones are a lot of times people that actually do uw anyway and already have some stones. The other major group of players who buy the summoning stones are people who have no intention of doing uw and they want them becuase they need them for other things becuase lets face it the dream rider is one of the best summons to use.

I just bought 100 Ghastly Summoning Stones for 500g each, does this make me UwSc Pro now..I think so. I feel bad for the players who suck and actually pay 3-5k for these things.
Funny part is, i never UwSc, and i will use these stones for places outside ToA.
Im just a big fan of summoning stones..all of em.

I agree this whole stone thing is idiotic. I've done tons of uwsc however, with the dhuum update and this stupid 200+stones crap, I can't get into a group at all. Thus I am unable obtain any Ghastly Summoning Stone, therefore, I cannot obtain "experience" as these people call it.

This was meant to keep out noobs, but it is also keeping out pros. I'm not calling myself a pro but my point is: How can I get in a group w/o stones? Answer: You cannot!

So, go ahead and keep your stones and self given "elite" status. I propose and agree that:

A Ghastly Summoning Stone Crater be added.

Stones are such a big deal to pugs because there's literally no room for failure when doing the quests. Fail main team or LT at escort=wipe, fail t2 at slayer=wipe, fail t4 at 4h=wipe. People naturally want to win, so they are going to try and set limits in order to have the greatest chance of suceeding.

So in short, this suggestion does nothing to alleviate the real issue of 4+ permas and 2+ eles clearing the UW in an average 30+ run, while "balanced" ways (that don't depend on permas) get to deal with 1hr+ runs, while wasting tons of res scrolls if an Emo isn't bonding/tanking at dhuum.

the problem with stones is you can BUY them from other people
SO if i buy 250 stones and i have never set foot in UW
every group will automatically accept me

When people say they do UWsc in N minutes, are they talking about literally completely clearing every area of the UW and all quests, or just doing all the quests and skipping any mobs you don't have to kill to complete the quests?

I only ask because I can spend *hours* in the UW (solo) just running around clearing areas of all bad guys without even getting into the quest chain. The other night I blew threw six hours before I knew it and had only cleared the labyrinth, forgotten vale, twin serpent mountains, chaos planes, and spawning pools. I hadn't even hit ice wastes and was just starting into the bone pits when I realized how much time had passed and said, "screw it" and went to bed.

Now, of course I'm doing this slowly in general because I'm just solo-ing and I wasn't using cons. But even with a full team and cons, I just don't see how you can clear every single area and do all the quests in 30-40 minutes.

Needless to say, I have no ghastly summoning stones so I can't get into any UWsc group, not that I'd want to anyway. So, on topic, I don't care about people asking for stones. Personally, if I had done UW a thousand times and had 2,000 stones if I was going to PuG and someone asked me to show stones I'd immediately say NVM. I'm into laid back fun enjoyable play, not "gawd u suck, newb!" types of play.

The last time I PuG-ed UW, a d-bag insisted we all sucked and since the monk on the team screwed up his survivor by letting him die we all owed him any ecto drops we got.

He's now on my ignore list.

Speed clear is completing every quest and killing Dhumm. Most areas this requires practically clearing those areas completely, or at least the areas which involve the quests. Lab, vale, wastes, pools, and pits. Plains is far from 'cleared', just around the reaper. Anything else takes way too long. Mountains...lol. run to reaper, clear the behemoths from the reaper, kill webs, kill slayer, done. I don't know why those behemoths don't drop ecto, tbh. They're the hardest things to kill in UW.

With or without cons, Physway can CLEAR every area in UW and complete in under 1:30h; as opposed to skipping every mob and chance of ectos and dust.

Stones are not that important. There are no req sc groups, old school groups, and I have even seen practice sc groups. These people are not asking for stones. Why people would say they can't find a group because they have no stones is beyond me.

I have never completed UW after dhuum update, but I still want these stones, so unless they make a crafter or something I'm stuck buying them. They are one of the best summoning stones, however they are really hard to get when you dont uwsc.
